New Year, New Goals, New Beginnings

2016 was phenomenal.

Adem put a diamond ring on it, we visited Greece & Turkey, met inspirational people and learnt things about ourselves and one another. I left my casual job, and I have been focusing purely on my photography since June. 2017 has a lot to offer and I am pretty excited to get started on it. It feels different to this time last year, I feel more focused, confident and happy about where I am and what I plan to achieve. Let the magic begin.

Here are some snippets of our Summer Holiday Adventures in Aus!

The apple of my eye <3

Holy moley, me oh my
You're the apple of my eye
Girl, I've never loved one like you

Man, oh man, you're my best friend
I scream it to the nothingness
There ain't nothing that I need

Well, hot and heavy, pumpkin pie
Chocolate candy, Jesus Christ
Ain't nothing please me more than you

Ah, home, let me go home
Home is wherever I'm with you
Ah, home, let me go home
Home is wherever I'm with you

La, la, la, la, take me home
Mommy, I'm coming home

I'll follow you into the park
Through the jungle, through the dark
Girl, I never loved one like you

Moats and boats and waterfalls
Alleyways and pay phone calls
I've been everywhere with you

That's true, laugh until we think we'll die
Barefoot on a summer night
Never could be sweeter than with you

And in the streets you run a-free
Like it's only you and me
Geez, you're something to see

Milestones... ✨

I've been all over the place lately. It's great, although I do miss having my own projects to work on. I miss that creative flow/addiction that kills and thrives you all at once. I know one day, that time will come, so I'm just happy to be picking up my camera more than three times a week. Hard work pays off - as they say, and I hope my personal projects pay the bills for me one day.

FIANCE - This weekend marks our 5-month-fiancé-anniversary and we are celebrating by throwing a party! It's going to be super fun. 5 months to the day, accidentally. Can't wait to share some snaps from it on my wedding website - Blossom Daisy Creative 💘 I also can't believe how fast time flies by.... it feels like we were in Greece, sipping rosé, on a cliff, a few weeks ago.

SISTERLY - I was lucky enough to shoot a phenomenal project on the weekend, it's called 'Sisterly'. It will be launching very soon. Pip Compton is the brains & creative power behind the 💡 idea, along with her high school friends who have come together to create a charity for their life long friend battling cancer. Pip is seriously inspirational and I can't wait to share this series of images with you, along with the full story/purpose of the charity.

ASSISTING - I been assisting some pretty awesome photographers, this week I've been at RMIT Assisting brochure and banner student shoots...  it's so much fun purely because the photographer I assist is hilarious. I have also stepped my foot into Second Shooting weddings. This would have to be my favourite way of shooting a wedding - as there's no "pressure" - you're not the principal shooter. I am really loving it at the moment, and have been lucky to find wonderfully talented photographers to work for. Grateful once again.

NEW YORK - This week also marks three years since I left for my once in a lifetime trip to New York. That trip changed my life forever. I really don't know why I decided to go to New York, for a month, alone, during Christmas? I was 21 years young and over ambitious. Buy boy, am I glad I just listened to my heart and did it. I learnt more than I can put into words & I also gained confidence in my work but more importantly, in myself. I truly believe that if I didn't embark on that journey, I would not have completed my BA of Photography, or had the confidence to approach Adem. The idea of that now, is hilarious to think about, because he is the friendliest person in the universe, I don't really know why I was so scared of approaching to him all those years. Seriously though, NY was a life changing trip, that shaped who I am, and what I have achieved today. So here I am, blabbing again, it's all pretty relevant though. My work is me, I wouldn't be where I am today without taking all those risks, last minute decisions and trusting moments of chance. I stumbled into all the right places after that trip to New York... Thank You Universe for giving me the opportunity to do it. Forever grateful.
