I've been reading a book called 'Big Magic' by Elizabeth Gilbert, which essentially discusses how to harness every aspect of your creativity - letting your creative intuition guide your life. I've been told by many people, that the solution to any burden in my life, will be resolved by using my creativity to heal the issue, whether is spiritual, physical or mental. It's spot on.
I have been searching for a self-help book that doesn't tell me what I already know, 'Big Magic' is just that. It has some liberating and honest life lessons, exploring an optimistic and in the moment way of life. It is changing the way I feel about myself and my work ethic, and it's working on my subconscious in ways I do not know. Slowly, but surely, I'll make progress, and start reaching my creative goals.
Gilberts words to live by:
'Ideas are a disembodied, energetic life-form. They are completely separate from us, but capable of interacting with us—albeit strangely. Ideas have no material body, but they do have consciousness, and they most certainly have will. Ideas are driven by a single impulse: to be made manifest. And the only way an idea can be made manifest in our world is through collaboration with a human partner.'
'It is only through a human’s efforts that an idea can be escorted out of the ether and into the realm of the actual. Ideas do have a conscious will, ideas do move from soul to soul, ideas will always try to seek the swiftest and most efficient conduit to the earth (Just like lightning does).'
I'll leave you with images I took one morning in my studio after reading Gilberts magic, Love C x
